I went to Glenwood about 15 or so years ago when I was in school. I had nothing but good experiences with them… until now. I took in my SUV to them after I found out I had 10 percent of my back brakes left. I got in short notice, paid $1000 for it, but I thought I was pretty happy with them. A few days into my new breaks, I noticed them squeaking when I started my car up. Continued for a few months. I called them up and explained what was going on, they said to bring it back in and it would be under warranty. The day before I took my car in, I got a call from one of the service guys. He said he had to charge me $270 for a “diagnostic” charge. I was out of town that day and said I MAY need to cancel and I would call. I got back into town, made arrangement and went to drop off my car at 7 am the next morning. When I got in, the same service guy said he cancelled my appointment. Making my husband and I late for work. I booked it in again with them the following week. They asked me about the charge and I told them I wasn’t willing to pay the charge. He said he’d “look into it” for me. I got my dad to call in and check, they told me I wasn’t going to be not just charged for this diagnostic charge, they wanted to replace my front breaks. Which were inspected before and still were at 70%! This would have been another $1200-$1300 charge for me! My dad told them not to touch the car and I went back to the shop to collect my car and key. When I got in, they explained they took my car for a spin, and the sound was coming from my back breaks… I left saying I was too po’d to deal with them and left. Course instead of contacting me, they contacted my dad about what happened… they “made it up” to me by picking the car up from my work and dropping it off at my work. The back breaks needed new pads and rooters… Safe to say I will NOT be returning to Glenwood. As a woman, they disrespected me and I KNOW they over charged me.
