Beware of these guys. They target and upsell you hard. I bought a used car, took it these guys a while back. Told em I already checked the engine and air filter and oil and would be replacing these in a few days, so not to check or care. They immediately told me that this work needed to be done. I thought initially they didn't know how to read.... until they tried to sell me on an engine flush. I was like oh, maybe they're right, maybe an engine flush is good. They apparently recommend an engine flush EVERY SECOND OIL CHANGE. I asked AI about engine flushes and they're apparently a "common dealship upsell" and most manufacturers recommended against these because they can clog the oil pickup tube, cause issues and expose worn rubber gaskets that were protected by gunk. A premium motor oil is enough. I don't doubt they do good work but beware of their upsells, which seem to be everywhere.
Paul, we do not have a "Paul Jones" in our system. Paul Jones has never been into our shop. You are obviously using an alias and not using your actual name for some reason. YES, we highly recommend Hot Engine Flushes every second oil change, and they are VERY important in keeping the oil side of your engine clean. The reason timing chains fail and/or stretch is due to hardened carbon and sludge build up on the oil side of the engine. The difference on an engine that performs a hot engine flush every second oil change, and one that does not do them, is huge. If you want to get 300,000 - 600,000km (or more), out of your engine, this is a must... all maintenance should be done according the maintenance schedule. We have been performing hot engine flushes for almost two decades. Hot engine flushes do not clog up oil pick up tubes, they actually do the exact opposite (they keep the entire system completely clean). Paul???, You are sadly misinformed.
