I wasexcited to find a shop close to my house that had good ratings. So I took my car in to get the air bag and abs lights diagnostics done. The sale rep at the front was telling me how hard it was to use the scanners they have. Told me the $2000 snap on scanners most shops use wouldn't tell me what the problem is. Told me how great his shop was and how he's the only shop in town that has the right tools to check those errors then told me it would be $500 just to plug in their scanner. Obviously he was so full of bs, I took my keys back. Called up the Ford dealer and they charge $140 / hr for diagnostics, and I'm sure they have the right tools to check these lights. Be very cautious of smooth talking sales reps that clearly have no idea what they are talking about. update I bought a used scanner off of Kijiji for $250 bucks and found the codes in about 15 mins. Was a quick easy fix as I expected it would be.

Chris, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Chris, the first thing you mentioned to me that morning, was that this car was a total loss vehicle, and the shop doing the SGI Certification made you pull the engine due to some pinched wires. You were quite upset with them. Knowing this, it was going to be highly possible that both the ABS light, and the SRS/air bag light issues could be atypical or abnormal issues. I wanted to get a starting point for how much time you wanted me to spend on the two issues as I thought it was better to have this conversation before we started spending time and your $, than after we spend 2-3 hours. I just wanted a starting point that you were going to be comfortable with., and that we would not exceed without your permission. I am sorry that this upset you so drastically. We do have factory diagnostic equipment in our shop for almost all makes & models of vehicles. We also pay yearly subscriptions to each manufacturer so that we can do accurate diagnostics and computer updates to your vehicle. They are not hard to use if properly trained. The generic/multi vehicle computer diagnostic equipment are not accurate, and can only get you part of the way to the problem, and then you are forced to guess. Robert Scott Glenwood Auto Service

The is my wife's car that is 14 years old, and now it looks like the day I bought it 10 years ago. Nicely done Glenwood people. The real test will be when my wife sees this detail work next week, and how much she notices the difference.
