The fuel pump is faulty. The cost to replace the fuel pump including diagnostics, parts, labor and taxes will be $1,900.00 - $1,950.00 includes the fuel filter, the fuel pump relay and flushing the fuel tank.
This estimate includes the diagnostic time, replacement of the fuel filter (the single biggest reason a fuel pump fails is due to a plugged fuel filter), sending the fuel tank for professional cleaning (a new fuel pump will not last if installed into a dirty fuel tank, we know this from experience and we have been recommending tank cleaning with new fuel pumps for 15 - 20 years, and have not had to do a fuel pump under warranty since), this also includes the best possible pump possible for this vehicle. We are fully aware that we are not anywhere near being the least expensive auto repair shop in Saskatoon, and nor do we want to be.
