I recently brought in both my daughter's and son's vehicles in on the same day for repairs. My daughter's vehicle was returned quickly, am thankful for that service provided, but was concerned over a $500 bill to change a battery. The work required on my son's truck was then advised, and based on the scope and what I was charged on the first vehicle, I opted to only have the necessary work performed. Some of the work had to be outsourced, and I understand that Glenwood loses control over it at that point, but the lack of communication for providing updates was a concern. I kept getting told I would get a call, but when that time came and no call was received, I was the one initiating the phone call, the service rep kept saying he was too busy that day and I ended up feeling like I had become a nuisance. Finally after getting this work done, we went to pick it up and before leaving the lot found the service engine light on. I paid for another diagnostic check and another $500.00 battery and an extra two days in the shop. It made us feel we were overpromised and under-delivered. I know you probably have many of loyal customers as it really is a helpful group when you walk in, but unfortunately my experience will keep me from becoming part of that customer group in the future.
Trevor, I left you a message on your work phone number, and also tried to call your cell phone. It would have been better to discuss this with you personally instead of by email. I am sorry that I did not provide you with updates, but there literally were no updates to be given. This is why I mentioned upon drop off that we were sending this rim to Kelvin's during our and their busiest time of year (the roads were very slippery with ice just prior to you coming in, and Kelvin's was as busy as they are ever going to be when that happens). I hate to say it, but in this case, the rim comes back when it comes back unfortunately. What they do is pretty specialized work, and there are not a lot of other option for this type of work in Saskatoon. The only other place I know of, sends everything to Regina, and I am not impressed with the quality of their work or the speed in which I get rims back from them. Our hands were tied in this case. I do appreciate your feedback, and letting me/us know how you feel, but I don't think I could have sped up the process for you under the same circumstances. As for the battery, I believe it is the original battery and was just overdue for replacement. The battery for this vehicle is over $100 more expensive than most battery`s for most vehicles. The code that was set is for low battery voltage and will only set on this make & model when the battery is due for replacement. It will save you money in the future to just replace your battery every 4-5 years to avoid headaches. It is also easier on your alternator. Trevor, thanks for your feedback, I am sorry that you wont be back.
